Based on my most recent poll, you have asked me to host a TWILIGHT CONTEST! So here it is! Take a look at the rules, judging, and prizes below. I hope you all choose to enter! Remember, you can enter up to three deviations. This contest will last 2 months... this means that you have until October 19th, 2009 to submit your entries, so get started! Voting will commence on Tuesday, October 20th. Once the contest is closed, =elspethmac and I will be reviewing all of the entries for consideration. Now, some entries were submitted against the rules (photo manipulations) While I still added them to the batch of entries in my folder, (I am a Twi-girl, and I will help promote anything Twilight) they will not be considered for placing.

ANYWAY, stepping away from all of the political mumbo jumbo...I AM SO HAPPY WITH THE SUCCESS OF THIS CONTEST! We have over 80 entries so far. Yes, I said over eighty! And they are all stupendous! (when's the last time you heard that word?!). Seriously, I am in absolute AWE at all of the amazing deviants who have chosen to participate in my first contest! You all kick so much ass, you don't even know! I honestly don't think that 1st, 2nd, 3rd, + honorable mentions is enough! I'd also like to give a HUGE shout-out thank you to everyone who has chosen to participate, including all of those generously sweet deviants who have agreed to donate prizes to the winners! You've made this a success!

Contest Basics:

Contest Name: The Twilight Saga
Active Dates: August 19th - October 19th, 2009
Host: *dark-fantasy
Judges: *dark-fantasy & =elspethmac
Placing: 1st place, 2nd place, & 3rd place, + 3-5 honorable mentions

Contest Rules:

Choose a scene or event from any of the Stephanie Meyer's, Twilight Saga novels or films. (Hint: Try a scene from a movie that hasn't been made yet for more "creativity" points during judging)
You can use any visual medium of your choice, aside from photo manipulation. The reason being that the copyright rules are too strict for me to have to worry about whether an entry is legal or not. I apologize, but this competition will not include literature or poetry entries.
Please don't spam DA telling people to come vote for you.
Up to three (3) entries allowed per person. You are allowed to use old deviations, or you can create new ones.
To submit your artwork, send me a note titled, "Twilight Entries" with links to the deviation(s). Please be sure that you already have the next rule in your description before submitting.
Let your watchers know that your deviation is being entered in a contest. I can't tell you how many times I have learned about a contest from someone's entry. Include the following sentence in your description (remove spaces):
"Entered in : icondark-fantasy :'s < i >Twilight Saga< /i > contest [link to journal entry]".

Judging:

=elspethmac and I will be judging based on the criteria below. The honorable mentions will be picked by me.

Creativity (Seeing the scene in different or odd colors, or from a different perspective that normal is always interesting)
Originality (I love seeing new & original poses and scenes that have never been seen)
Skill & Time spent (Obviously, time spent and technical skill will play a large factor in the judging process. The more effort put forth, will earn more)

And now what you've all been waiting for... the prizes. Prizes are based strictly on generous donations from your fellow deviants. We will accept any of the following donations: 1) Journal entries (please tell me how long you will feature the artists, and which place holders will be featured). 2) Free commissions. 3) Gifts from your print shop. 4) Gifts from the DA store. 5) Subscriptions. *Got an idea for a different kind of prize?
